These spreadsheets contain revised data for some of the chain volume measures series released in Construction Work Done, Australia, Preliminary, cat. no. 8755.0. This data is sourced from, and more comprehensive results are available in Building Activity, Australia (cat. no. 8752.0) and Engineering Construction Activity, Australia (cat. no. 8762.0). The notes below relate to these two publications.

BUILDING ACTIVITY, AUSTRALIA, March 2015 (cat. no. 8752.0)

DATA NOTE

Several time series spreadsheets contain 'np' (not available for publication) annotations from the September quarter 2012 onwards. This is due to confidential data being contained in these series.

This release includes revisions dating back to September 2001.

ENGINEERING CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY, AUSTRALIA, March 2015 (cat. no. 8762.0)

DATA NOTE

This release includes revisions to Engineering Construction data back to September 2011.

Several time series spreadsheets for recent quarters contain 'np' (not available for publication) annotations. This is due to confidential data being contained in these series.

Trend estimates for quarterly work done on Engineering Construction in the Northern Territory have not been released for September 2014, December 2014 and March 2015. The ABS produces trend estimates to best represent the underlying behaviour of the series but the very large movements evident in the original and seasonally adjusted data between June and September prevent the reliable estimation of this behaviour. The ABS will review these trend estimates over the next few quarters with a view to re-establishing the series. The reliability of original and seasonally adjusted estimates are not affected.

Trend estimates should be used with caution due to the volatility caused by large engineering projects. For more details on trend estimates, please see paragraphs 22 to 24 of the explanatory notes.
