Main Features Building Approvals,Australia Dwelling Units Approved, State Trends About this Release History of Changes Building Approvals, Australia (Media Release)	BUILDING APPROVALS AUSTRALIA NUMBER OF TOTAL DWELLING UNITS The trend estimate for Australia rose 1.8% in March. In seasonally adjusted terms the estimate rose 2.8% to 19,419 dwellings. NUMBER OF PRIVATE SECTOR HOUSES The trend estimate for private sector houses approved rose 0.2% in March. In seasonally adjusted terms the estimate rose 1.1% to 9,551 houses. NUMBER OF PRIVATE SECTOR DWELLINGS EXCLUDING HOUSES The trend estimate for private sector dwelling units excluding houses rose 3.6% in March. In seasonally adjusted terms the estimate rose 5.3% to 9,710 dwellings. VALUE OF NEW RESIDENTIAL BUILDING The trend estimate for the value of new residential building approved rose 2.7% in March and has risen for 12 months. VALUE OF ALTERATIONS AND ADDITIONS TO RESIDENTIAL BUILDING The trend estimate for the value of alterations and additions to residential building rose 0.4% in March and has risen for four months. VALUE OF NON-RESIDENTIAL BUILDING The trend estimate for the value of non-residential building approved fell 2.8% in March and has fallen for four months.
