BUILDING APPROVALS AUSTRALIA The trend estimate for Australia fell 1.5% in February 2012. In seasonally adjusted terms the estimate fell 7.8% to 10,771 dwellings. NUMBER OF PRIVATE SECTOR HOUSES The trend estimate for private sector houses approved fell 0.3% in February. In seasonally adjusted terms the estimate fell 3.4% to 7,214 houses. NUMBER OF PRIVATE SECTOR DWELLINGS EXCLUDING HOUSES The trend estimate for private sector dwelling units excluding houses fell 3.8% in February. In seasonally adjusted terms the estimate fell 15.8% to 3,385 dwellings. VALUE OF NEW RESIDENTIAL BUILDING The trend estimate for the value of new residential building approved fell 1.3% in February 2012 and has fallen for 22 months. VALUE OF ALTERATIONS AND ADDITIONS TO RESIDENTIAL BUILDING The trend estimate for the value of alterations and additions to residential building fell 0.6% in February 2012 and has now fallen for 10 months. VALUE OF NON-RESIDENTIAL BUILDING The trend estimate for the value of non-residential building approved fell 1.0% in February 2012 and has fallen for 13 months.
