BUILDING APPROVALS AUSTRALIA The trend estimate for Australia rose 1.3% in December. In seasonally adjusted terms the estimate fell 3.3% to 17,753 dwellings. NUMBER OF PRIVATE SECTOR HOUSES The trend estimate for private sector houses approved fell 0.2% in December. In seasonally adjusted terms the estimate was flat to 9,314 houses. NUMBER OF PRIVATE SECTOR DWELLINGS EXCLUDING HOUSES The trend estimate for private sector dwelling units excluding houses rose 2.9% in December. In seasonally adjusted terms the estimate fell 9.7% to 7,985 dwellings. VALUE OF NEW RESIDENTIAL BUILDING The trend estimate for the value of new residential building approved rose 0.7% in December and has risen for two months. VALUE OF ALTERATIONS AND ADDITIONS TO RESIDENTIAL BUILDING The trend estimate for the value of alterations and additions to residential building fell 0.4% in December and has fallen for three months. VALUE OF NON-RESIDENTIAL BUILDING The trend estimate for the value of non-residential building approved fell 0.7% in December and has fallen for four months.
