ANALYSIS - TOTAL RETAIL TOTAL RETAIL - QUARTERLY In volume terms, the seasonally adjusted estimate for the September quarter 2015 rose 0.6% following a rise of 0.7% in the June quarter 2015 and a rise of 0.6% in the March quarter 2015. In the September quarter 2015, the seasonally adjusted estimate rose in volume terms for Other retailing (1.0%), Clothing, footwear and personal accessory retailing (1.7%), Food retailing (0.3%), Department stores (1.5%) and Cafes, restaurants and takeaway food services (0.6%). Household goods retailing (-0.8%) fell in volume terms in the September quarter 2015. The Implicit Price Deflator for Australian turnover rose 0.3% in seasonally adjusted terms in the September quarter 2015. TOTAL RETAIL - BY STATE The following states and territories rose in trend terms in September 2015: Victoria (0.5%), New South Wales (0.3%), Western Australia (0.3%), Tasmania (0.3%), South Australia (0.1%) and the Northern Territory (0.1%). The Australian Capital Territory (0.0%) was relatively unchanged. Queensland (-0.1%) fell in trend terms in September 2015. The following states and territories rose in seasonally adjusted terms in September 2015: Victoria (0.8%), New South Wales (0.3%), Western Australia (0.5%), South Australia (0.3%), Tasmania (0.8%) and the Northern Territory (1.0%). Queensland (-0.3%) and the Australian Capital Territory (-0.1%) fell in seasonally adjusted terms in September 2015. In the September quarter 2015, the seasonally adjusted estimate rose in volume terms in the following states: New South Wales (0.9%), Victoria (1.0%), Western Australia (0.7%) and Tasmania (0.7%). Queensland (-0.2%), South Australia (-0.4%), the Australian Capital Territory (-0.6%) and the Northern Territory (-0.2%) fell in volume terms in the September quarter 2015.
