ROLE OF THE AGRICULTURE PROGRAM The Agriculture Program aims to produce high quality agricultural statistics for use by government and private organisations to monitor major agricultural issues. These data are collected by a variety of programs covering different aspects of agricultural operations.

Subjects covered include crop production, livestock numbers, farm practices, wool receivals and livestock slaughterings. More details of the collections can be found in the 'Regular and irregular collections' and '2005-06 Agricultural Census' sections of this newsletter.

Data are disseminated via a number of different methods e.g. printed publications, internet, media releases, spreadsheets.
