Walkerville and Roxby Downs top South Australia's income list Walkerville recorded an average total income of $67,690 in 2007-08, closely followed by the northern mining centre of Roxby Downs ($66,400) . South-west Burnside ($61,109), east Unley ($60,212) and north-east Mitcham ($59,120) round out the top five income areas in South Australia. Around 25% of regions in South Australia recorded average total incomes above the state average ($40,488). Of these, around 70% were located within the Adelaide metropolitan area. Apart from Roxby Downs, other areas outside of Adelaide recording slightly higher average total incomes were in the Flinders Ranges ($44,741), Whyalla ($44,699), and in the far north of the state ($43,232). These data include income from wages and salaries, own unincorporated business, investment, and superannuation and annuities, but do not include government pensions and allowances.
