UNEMPLOYED PERSONS TREND ESTIMATES


MALES

The trend estimates of unemployed males generally fell from 346,000 in April 2000 to 342,000 in August 2000. The trend then rose to 392,000 in September 2001, before generally falling to 235,200 in March 2008. The trend then rose to 375,800 in July 2009 before falling to 334,200 in April 2010.

FEMALES

The trend estimates of unemployed females fell from 267,500 in April 2000 to 239,700 in September 2000. The trend then rose to 290,200 in October 2001, before generally falling to 226,800 in March 2008. The trend then rose to 289,000 in September 2009 before falling to 281,000 in March 2010. The trend has since increased 600 to stand at 281,600.

PERSONS

The trend estimates of unemployed persons generally fell from 613,500 in April 2000 to 582,900 in September 2000. The trend then rose to 682,100 in October 2001, before generally falling to 462,000 in March 2008. The trend then rose to 662,000 in August 2009, before falling to 615,900 in April 2010.
