EMPLOYMENT TO POPULATION RATIO TREND ESTIMATES


MALES

The trend estimate of the employment to population ratio for males generally rose from 67.2% in October 2002 to 69.9% in March 2008. The trend then fell to 68.0% in July 2009 before rising to 69.3% in December 2010. The trend has since fallen to 67.8% in October 2012.

FEMALES

The trend estimate of the employment to population ratio for females generally rose from 52.2% in October 2002 to 56.0% in June 2008. The trend then fell to 55.4% in September 2009 before generally rising to 56.0% in July 2011. The trend has since generally fallen to 55.6% in October 2012.

PERSONS

The trend estimate of the employment to population ratio for persons generally rose from 59.6% in October 2002 to 62.8% in May 2008. The trend then fell to 61.6% in August 2009 before rising to 62.5% in January 2011. The trend has since generally fallen to 61.6% in October 2012.
