TIME SERIES TOTAL PUBLIC SECTOR
For the total public sector across all levels of government, GFS revenue increased by $2,208 million (0.5%) from $470,458 million in 2007-08 to $472,666 million in 2008-09. GFS expenses increased by $60,906 million (14.0%) from $433,607 million to $494,513 million. As a result the GFS net operating balance decreased by $58,698 million from $36,851 million in 2007-08 to -$21,847 million in 2008-09
Between 30 June 2008 and 30 June 2009 GFS net worth across the total public sector increased by $39,516 million from $899,130 million to $938,646 million.

For the Commonwealth Government total public sector, GFS revenue decreased by $4,733 million (1.5%) from $314,760 million in 2007-08 to $310,027 million in 2008-09. GFS expenses increased by $45,627 million (15.8%) from $288,072 million to $333,699 million. As a result GFS net operating balance decreased by $50,360 million from $26,688 million in 2007-08 to -$23,672 million in 200-09.
Between 30 June 2008 and 30 June 2009 GFS net worth for the Commonwealth Government total public sector decreased by $47,880 million from $79,987 million to $32,107 million.
The data for 2006-07 was impacted by the privatisation of Telstra on 20 November 2007.
