REVISIONS
Since the previous issue of this publication, revisions have been made to align with the data published in the December quarter 2017 issue of Balance of Payments and International Investment Position, Australia (cat. no. 5302.0), released on 6 March 2018 and Australian National Accounts: National Income, Expenditure and Product (cat. no. 5206.0), released on 7 March 2018. On an international merchandise trade basis, goods exports and imports have been revised back to July 2017.
The following goods and services debits components have been revised since the release of the December 2017 issue of International Trade in Goods and Services, Australia (cat. no. 5368.0):
- capital goods n.e.s. component of goods debits, revised back to October 2017
- other services component of services debits, revised back to October 2017.
In original terms the revisions have resulted in a turnaround from a deficit on goods and services of $2m to a surplus of $520m for the six months to December 2017.
