INTERSECTORAL FINANCIAL FLOWS

During September Quarter 2007

Significant flows during the September quarter 2007 were the borrowings by non-financial corporations from financial corporations, net $26.6b, by financial corporations from the rest of the world, net $18.4b, and by general government from financial corporations, net $12.3b. Households acquired net financial assets of $18.7b from financial corporations, and provided net financial assets to general government, net $2.0b and non-financial corporations, net $0.6b.

At end of September Quarter 2007

At the end of September 2007, net claims on non-financial corporations stood at $861.8b from financial corporations, $383.4b from rest of world, $219.4b from households and $100.8b from general government. Financial corporations financed claims on non-financial corporations primarily from net claims of $826.3b by households and $285.2b by the rest of world.
