CHANGES IN THIS ISSUE
The Water Account Australia (WAA), 2011-12, is the seventh edition of this publication.
Estimates for the Mining. Manufacturing and Other industries were mainly sourced from the three-yearly ABS 2011-12 Energy, Water and Environment Survey and supplemented by company information from websites and published reports (e.g. annual reports, environmental reports) which enables the presentation of Mining and Manufacturing estimates at sub-division levels (where possible).
As in the 2010-11 edition, Environmental Flows are presented in the physical supply and use tables only within the regulated discharge estimates for the Water supply, sewerage and drainage services and Electricity and gas supply industries. They were not presented within the estimates for distributed, reuse and in-stream water supplied and used. Only volumetric-based environmental flows were included in the estimates due to uncertainty of estimates of rules-based environmental flows. Therefore, caution should be exercised when comparing Environmental flows with 2008-09 and 2009-10 data.
