These products provide data on people with disability, older people (aged 65 years or more) and people who care for people with disability or older people. Information available includes: need and receipt of assistance across common activities of daily living; specific impairments and underlying health conditions; education and employment restrictions; social and community participation; experience and impact of the caring role on carers; and standard demographic, labour force and other socio-economic information. Detailed lists of data items available from each product is provided on the Downloads tab.
The microdata enables users to tabulate, manipulate and analyse data. Steps to confidentialise the dataset have been applied to ensure the integrity of data and maintain confidentiality of respondents. This includes removing any information that might uniquely identify an individual or household, reducing the level of detail for some items and collapsing some categories.
Approved users can combine information about people with disability, carers and other household members to enable in-depth studies of disability and carer issues.
