MAIN FEATURES SHORT-TERM VISITOR ARRIVALS, Australia The following table presents the top ten source countries (based on original estimates) for short-term visitor arrivals during November 2018. When trend estimates for short-term visitor arrivals for November 2017 and November 2018 were compared, the highest percentage increases were recorded for India (13.6%), followed by Japan (11.6%) and Singapore (9.5%). The highest percentage decreases were recorded for South Korea (-16.9%), the United States of America (-1.6%) and the United Kingdom, Channel Islands and Isle of Man (-1.6%).
SHORT-TERM RESIDENT RETURNS In trend terms, short-term resident returns to Australia during November 2018 (936,600 movements) increased 0.3% when compared with October 2018 (934,200 movements). In November 2018, short-term resident returns were 5.8% higher than in November 2017. When trend estimates for short-term resident returns for November 2017 and November 2018 were compared, the highest percentage increases were recorded for Indonesia (17.4%), Japan (11.7%) and India (9.8%). The highest percentage decreases were recorded for Singapore (-3.2%) and Thailand (-3.1%).
