TREND ESTIMATES

The trend estimate for short-term visitor arrivals to Australia for May 2007 (479,700 movements), which was unchanged from April 2007 (479,700 movements). This follows monthly increases of 0.3% for March 2007 and 0.1% for April 2007.


Currently, short-term visitor arrivals are 5.2% higher than in May 2006.



SEASONALLY ADJUSTED ESTIMATES

The seasonally adjusted estimate for short-term visitor arrivals to Australia for May 2007 (472,500 movements) decreased by 0.8% compared with April 2007 (476,300 movements). This followed a monthly increase of 7.6% for March 2007 and a monthly decrease of 5.1% for April 2007.
