Apples are the most important fruit crop in Tasmania. In 2004-05, Tasmanian farmers produced 45,500 tonnes of apples.
The four most common varieties of apples produced in Tasmania in 2004-05 were:
- Golden delicious (8,400 tonnes)
- Fuji (7,400 tonnes)
- Delicious - striped red (7,000 tonnes)
- Gala (5,000 tonnes)
