PIGS

Pig numbers have risen significantly in Australia, more than tripling during the period from 1953 to 1973 then falling to 2.3 million in 2010.

All states have followed a similar growth in pig numbers except Tasmania, which has seen a notable drop in numbers to a new historical low in 2010 of 11 thousand.
