      Included in Q230, "...(DO YOU HAVE) ANY CONDITIONS WHICH ARE UNDER CONTROL BECAUSE YOU ARE HAVING LONG TERM TREATMENT OR TAKING MEDICATION. FOR EXAMPLE NEEDING GLASSES OR HAVING HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE?"

      "- DO YOU HAVE ANY CONDITIONS LIKE THESE?"
      Prompt card 5 was shown which included "VISION PROBLEMS CORRECTED BY WEARING GLASSES OR CONTACT LENSES (specify)" among a list of 41 conditions.
      Included in eyesight module, Q410-416. Respondents were asked whether they currently wear glasses or contact lenses. Those who did were asked Q414A: "WHAT SIGHT PROBLEMS DO YOUR GLASSES OR CONTACT LENSES CORRECT?" response categories included: "Astigmatism", "Long sightedness", "Short sightedness/Myopia" , "Age-related sight problems" and "Other".
      Respondents who did not report wearing glasses but who did have sight problem were asked Q413: "CAN ANY OF THESE SIGHT PROBLEMS BE CORRECTED BY GLASSES?" those responding "yes" or "partially" were asked Q414B: "WHAT SIGHT PROBLEMS DO HAVE THAT CAN BE CORRECTED BY GLASSES OR CONTACT LENSES?" with the same response categories as above.
      Included in eyesight module, Q522-537.
      Respondents were asked whether they currently wear glasses or contact lenses "TO CORRECT OR PARTIALLY CORRECT YOUR EYESIGHT". Those who did were asked Q524: "WHAT SIGHT PROBLEMS DO YOUR GLASSES OR CONTACT LENSES CORRECT, OR PARTIALLY CORRECT?" response categories included: "Astigmatism", "Short sightedness/Myopia", "Age-related sight problems/Presbyopia", "Long sightedness", "Other (specify)" and "Don't know".
      Respondents who did not report wearing glasses but who did have a sight problem were asked Q528: "WHAT OTHER SIGHT PROBLEMS DO YOU HAVE THAT CAN BE CORRECTED, OR PARTIALLY CORRECTED BY GLASSES OR CONTACT LENSES?" with the same response categories as above.
