To provide small area employment and travel to work statistics to assist government and other bodies in the development of policies and programs related to transport and urban development.

The Journey to Work data set contains information gathered by the ABS in the Census of Population and Housing on the employment, personal and household characteristics of employed persons aged 15 years and over, enumerated in the TDC Study Area (Greater Sydney Metropolitan Region) on census night. This information is coded to a fine geographic level known as travel zone.

The dataset comprises standard tables, each with a different combination of variables. Therefore, not all variables are available together.
