5. RESOURCE MANAGEMENT AND PRACTICE INFORMATION COLLECTED BIENNIALLY
The 2007-08 Agricultural Resource Management Survey (ARMS) was developed to provide information on land management practices, identified as contributing to resource condition outcomes, by farm businesses. This benchmark information was developed to provide measures against which changes can be assessed during the Caring for our Country program.
It is proposed that a similar set of questions will be asked every second year to assess change, with the next collection for the 2009-10 reference period.
The detail of the actual resource management and practice information questions to be included into the future have not been finalised but will be based on data requirements to inform the Caring for our Country initiative and other data priorities. The questions will be designed to measure progress in the conservation, protection and restoration of the natural resources on land managed by agricultural businesses.
