This publication summarises results from the 'Household Preparedness for Emergencies' survey, conducted during October 2007 throughout New South Wales (NSW), Victoria (Vic.), Queensland (Qld) and Australian Capital Territory (ACT). It presents information on preparedness for emergencies such as fire, floods or storms. This publication also includes information about the presence of safety features such as smoke detectors, fire extinguishers and fire blankets, and other indicators of preparedness, as well as data on household experience of emergencies.
