This release relates to microdata from the 2016 Australian Census and Temporary Entrants Integrated Dataset.
The 2016 Australian Census and Temporary Entrants Integrated Dataset (ACTEID) was created using statistical techniques to link data on temporary visa holders with data from the 2016 Census of Population and Housing. This data allows for new insights into the characteristics of temporary residents in Australia previously not available, including employment, income and housing.
The ACTEID enables person level characteristics collected in the Census to be cross classified with data items that describe a temporary entrant's entry conditions such as visa, applicant status and country of citizenship.

A detailed list of data items is available on the Downloads tab.
TableBuilder enables users to tabulate, manipulate and analyse data. Steps to confidentialise the dataset are taken to ensure the integrity of data and to maintain confidentiality of respondents. This includes removing any information that might uniquely identify an individual, reducing the level of detail for some items and collapsing some categories.
