STATE FINAL DEMAND

  • In the June quarter 2009, Western Australia's state final demand (seasonally adjusted chain volume measures) increased by 1.6% to $36 billion.
  • Contributing to the increase was a rise in private gross fixed capital formation (up 3.7%). There were also minimal increases in final consumption expenditure for general government and households (both around 1%).
  • In contrast, public gross fixed capital formation decreased by 6.5% in the same period.



  • State final demand (trend chain volume measures) in Western Australia fell by 0.1% in the June 2009 quarter. Nationally, domestic final demand recorded a fall of 0.2% in the June quarter 2009.
  • The only states to record increases in state final demand in the June quarter 2009 were Victoria (up 0.6%) and South Australia (up 0.8%).
