In 2001, 19.7% of the Tasmanian population aged 15 years and over reported that their health was excellent, 31.4% very good and 27.4% good. Another 21.5% reported that their health was fair or poor. Tasmanians were more likely to assess their health as fair or poor (21.5%) than people aged over 18 years living elsewhere in Australia (18.7%).
