ABS secures user funding to continue the Survey of Tourist Accommodation


The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) is pleased to announce that the Survey of Tourist Accommodation will be run for the 2013-14 financial year thanks to funding from the Australian Trade Commission (Austrade). The results will be published in December 2014.

The ABS will consult with stakeholders over the coming months to review the collection and seek a more permanent funding arrangement to meet the needs of users.

Today's statement follows the ABS announcement on 5 June 2014 regarding proposed changes to the work program, which impacted the Survey of Tourist Accommodation. At the time of that announcement the ABS said it would continue affected collections if funding could be secured.
