The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) will tomorrow (16/10) release Consumption of Sweetened Beverages, 2011-12 (cat. no. 4364.0.55.007).

Consumption of Sweetened Beverages, 2011-12 provides an overview of the consumption of sweetened beverages (sugar- and intense-sweetened) among Australians aged 2 years and over, using data from the 2011-12 National Nutrition and Physical Activity Survey (NNPAS), the 2012-13 National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Nutrition and Physical Activity Survey (NATSINPAS), and the 1995 National Nutrition Survey (NNS).

This publication includes information on proportion of consumers and average volume of consumption by demographic, socioeconomic and selected health characteristics, and Indigenous status, as well as consumption trends over time.

Data on sugar content and proportion of energy from sweetened beverages is also included.
