This publication contains estimates of the quantity of grain held in grain storage facilities operated by the major bulk grain handling companies and grain traders in Australia as at 31 August 2007.


KEY POINTS


The total quantity of grain held in storage facilities operated by the major grain handling companies at 31 August 2007 was 4.3 million tonnes, a 21% decline from the July figure. The majority of the fall was due to a 682,500 tonne reduction in wheat stocks, a fall of 19%. Barley stocks fell by 254,000 tonnes (23%).
