Provides information from the Survey of Major Labour Costs conducted in Australia annually.

Labour costs are defined as all costs incurred by employers in the employment of labour. The full range of labour costs comprises:

(a) Earnings of employees
(b) Payroll tax
(c) Superannuation
(d) Workers' compensation
(e) Fringe benefits tax
(f) Fringe benefits
(g) Welfare services
(h) Training
(i) Recruitment.

The Survey of Major Labour Costs covers only components (a) to (e) which are generally considered to account for over 90 per cent of all labour costs.
