Trend estimates

  • From November 2002 to November 2003 the number of public sector employees increased by 28,200 (1.9%) to 1,530,200.
  • In the same period the number of employees increased in state government by 2.2%, in local government by 1.5% and in Commonwealth government by 0.5%.
