TREND ESTIMATES

The trend estimate for short-term visitor arrivals to Australia for April 2008 (474,400 movements) increased slightly by 0.5% compared with March 2008 (472,000 movements). This followed monthly increases of 0.3% for February 2008 and 0.4% for March 2008. Over the previous year the trend estimate has remained relatively stable.

SEASONALLY ADJUSTED ESTIMATES

The seasonally adjusted estimate for short-term visitor arrivals to Australia for April 2008 (480,100 movements) increased by 2.4% compared with March 2008 (468,600 movements). This followed a monthly increase of 1.7% for February 2008 and a monthly decrease of 0.8% for March 2008.
