It also contains life expectancy at birth estimates for males, females and persons for Statistical Area Level 4 (SA4). Internationally, life tables are used to measure mortality. In its simplest form, a life table is generated from age-specific death rates and the resulting values are used to measure mortality, survivorship and life expectancy.
