HOSPITAL CHARACTERISTICS

In 2011-12, 44.8% (126) of all Acute and psychiatric hospitals had a dedicated day surgery unit. Acute and psychiatric hospitals in New South Wales were the least likely to have a labour ward (19.1%), while two thirds of the hospitals in the smallest states and territories category had labour wards.
