In current prices, the trend estimate for Australian turnover rose 0.3% in November 2011 following a rise of 0.3% in October 2011 and a rise of 0.3% in September 2011.

The seasonally adjusted estimate for Australian turnover was relatively unchanged (0.0%) in November 2011 following a rise of 0.2% in October 2011 and a rise of 0.3% in September 2011.

The original estimate for Australian turnover rose 3.2% in November 2011. The original estimate for chains and other larger retailers rose 4.2% in November 2011. The original estimate for smaller retailers rose 1.5% in November 2011.

TOTAL RETAIL - BY STATE

The following states and territories rose in trend terms in November 2011: New South Wales (0.5%), Western Australia (0.8%), Queensland (0.2%), South Australia (0.5%), Victoria (0.1%), the Northern Territory (0.6%) and Tasmania (0.2%). The Australian Capital Territory (0.0%) was relatively unchanged.

The following states and territories rose in seasonally adjusted terms in November 2011: Queensland (0.5%), New South Wales (0.3%), Western Australia (0.8%), South Australia (0.2%), Tasmania (0.4%) and the Northern Territory (0.4%). Victoria (-1.1%) and the Australian Capital Territory (-1.9%) fell in seasonally adjusted terms in November 2011.
