The chart below shows the trend series and seasonally adjusted series to February 2015.

In current prices, the trend estimate for Australian turnover rose 0.3% in February 2015 following a rise of 0.3% in January 2015 and a rise of 0.3% in December 2014.

The seasonally adjusted estimate for Australian turnover rose 0.7% in February 2015 following a rise of 0.5% in January 2015 and a rise of 0.1% in December 2014.

The original estimate for Australian turnover fell 11.3% in February 2015. The original estimate for chains and other larger retailers fell 13.8% in February 2015. The original estimate for smaller retailers fell 6.3% in February 2015.

TOTAL RETAIL - BY STATE

The following states and territories rose in trend terms in February 2015: Queensland (0.6%), New South Wales (0.2%), Victoria (0.3%), Western Australia (0.3%), South Australia (0.3%), Tasmania (0.4%) and the Australian Capital Territory (0.1%). The Northern Territory (0.0%) was relatively unchanged in trend terms in February 2015.

The following states and territories rose in seasonally adjusted terms in February 2015: New South Wales (0.7%), Victoria (0.8%), South Australia (1.7%), Western Australia (0.7%), Queensland (0.2%), the Australian Capital Territory (1.6%), the Northern Territory (2.3%) and Tasmania (0.7%).
