Cattle (excluding calves):
In the December quarter 2013, the number of cattle slaughtered (excluding calves) increased by 2% over the previous quarter, to a record 2.2 million.

Calves:
The number of calves slaughtered in the December quarter 2013 remained steady at 173,000.

Sheep:
The number of sheep slaughtered in the December quarter 2013 fell by 2% to 2.5 million when compared to September quarter 2013.

Lambs:
Lamb slaughterings in the December quarter 2013 increased slightly to a record 5.5 million.

Pigs:
Pig slaughterings in the December quarter 2013 fell by 1% over the previous quarter, to 1.2 million.

Chickens:
Chicken slaughterings in the December quarter 2013 remained steady at 144 million.
