Concordances

Concordances between classifications show the relationship between the various categories within them, and therefore the degree of comparability of the data classified to them.

This publication includes a broad concordance between the 1985 ANCO and the 1997 ASOC. It is intended that detailed concordances between the ASOC and the actual criminal statutes of the Commonwealth, States and Territories will be available when these have been compiled.

Keyword index of criminal offences or activities

The Index of Offences included in this publication covers only those offences, or common term interpretations of those offences, that are actually and specifically mentioned somewhere within the text of the classification. This index is suitable for finding the Group to which an offence would be classified, providing there exists some general understanding of the nature of the offence (as opposed to the specific criminal offence title).
