UNEMPLOYED PERSONS TREND ESTIMATES


MALES

The trend estimates of unemployed males rose from 354,800 in December 2000 to 392,000 in September 2001 before falling to 234,600 in June 2007. The trend rose to 382,000 in July 2009 before falling to stand at 318,800 in December 2010.

FEMALES

The trend estimates of unemployed females rose from 248,900 in December 2000 to 290,200 in October 2001, before falling to 229,000 in March 2008. The trend then rose to 292,300 in October 2009 before falling to 284,700 in March 2010. The trend has since risen to 300,000 in December 2010.

PERSONS

The trend estimates of unemployed persons rose from 603,700 in December 2000 to 682,100 in October 2001, before falling to 466,600 in March 2008. The trend then rose to 671,900 in August 2009, before falling to 616,500 in June 2010. The trend then rose to 622,100 in October 2010 before falling to 618,800 in December 2010.
