In Tasmania during the five years to June 2004, the difference between annual percentage changes in the June quarter average weekly ordinary time earnings by full-time employees and annual percentage changes in the June quarter Hobart Consumer Price Index (CPI) has fluctuated. While there has been a 0.5% overall increase in real wages during the five year period, 2001 and 2004 recorded decreases of 2.8% and 1.2% respectively.
