Country breakdown charts

Country breakdown charts have been included in this issue of the publication. These charts show Australia's major trading partners for the financial year 2018-19. The first chart shows the countries with the largest combined trade in both exports and imports of goods and services, whilst the second shows total exports and total imports for each country.


Update to country labels

The Standard Australian Classification of Countries (SACC) reflect country titles recognised by the Australian Government. Currently, ABS International Trade statistical outputs are being updated to correspond with the SACC (e.g. all references to The former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia will be updated to North Macedonia). The identification of countries and country groups within the SACC does not imply the expression of any opinion on the part of the ABS regarding the legal status of any country, territory, or area, or concerning the delimitation of its frontiers or boundaries. The country label update have led to a minor re-ordering of the countries in some ABS International Trade statistical outputs.

These changes have been applied to this publication from the October 2019 reference month (this edition) onwards and are being applied iteratively across all ABS International Trade publications. Other International Trade publications that have already been updated with the new labels are:
