CHANGES IN THIS ISSUE
This edition of Australian Environmental-Economic Accounts incorporates the following changes:
- There were revisions to published data used to calculate indicators in the Main Findings and in published tables. These are population data from Australian Demography Statistics (cat. no. 3101.0), as well as annual Industry estimates of Gross value added (GVA) from the Australian System of National Accounts 2015-16 (cat. no. 5204.0). The latter were revised back to 2012-13 as a result of updated input data from Australian Industry, 2014-15 (cat. no. 8155.0).
- Estimates for waste generation in the selected socio-economic and environmental measures were removed in this publication pending revisions to methodology.
- Estimates of the supply and use of energy products, in physical units, have now been extended back to include the years 2002-03 to 2007-08. These data were first released in Energy Account, Australia 2014-15 (cat. no. 4604.0). The primary data source for these series is the annual Australian Energy Statistics publication produced by the Department of Industry, Innovation and Science. This information has been augmented with administrative data from the Australian Government’s National Greenhouse Emissions Reporting (NGER) Scheme and with data from the ABS Energy, Water and Environment Survey to deliver an extended back series of data.
- Revisions to monetary estimates of household use of water for 2013-14 affect estimates for Australia and four states and territories. These revisions are driven by improved information from survey and administrative sources and first appeared in Water Account, Australia 2014-15 (cat. no. 4610.0).
