This publication contains estimates of the quantity of grain held in grain storage facilities operated by the major bulk grain handling companies and grain traders in Australia as at 31 July 2007.


KEY POINTS

The total quantity of grain held in storage facilities operated by the major grain handling companies at 31 July 2007 was 5.4 million tonnes, a 25% decline from the June figure. Most of the fall was due to a 29% reduction in the stocks of wheat - to 3.5 million tonnes. With the exception of stocks of 'sorghum, other feed grains and pulses', all other grain stocks fell.
