CENSUS PRODUCTS
Community Profiles
Now available from the Census Home Page on the ABS website, Community Profiles are a collection of various tables showing Census data in detail for a chosen location. There are currently four community profiles available, with a fifth to be released on 19 December 2007:
- Basic Community Profile - basic demographic information for an area including age, ancestry, income, education and family type
- Indigenous Profile - key census characteristics of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander persons, families and dwellings, including comparisons with non-Indigenous people
- Time Series Profile - contains tables similar to those in the Basic Community Profile, comprising data from the 1996, 2001 and 2006 Censuses
- Place of Enumeration Profile - basic demographic information for an area, including age, ancestry, income, education, family type and more. The data are based on place of enumeration (i.e. location on Census night)
- Expanded Community Profile - the most comprehensive Community Profile in the series providing extended data on key Census characteristics of persons, families and dwellings. The data are based on place of usual residence
- Working Population Profile - key Census characteristics of working population data basked on Place of Work. The Working Population will be available from 19 December 2007
2006 DataPacks
This is a CD-ROM product containing 2006 Census Community Profile data for all of Australia to the Collection District (CD) level and the matching digital boundary basemaps in generic Geographical Information System (GIS) format.
