  • About this Release

Describes the mortality of Indigenous Australians in the three-year period 1995-97. Most of the data presented are from Western Australia, South Australia and the Northern Territory combined, as these jurisdictions were believed to have the most complete coverage of Indigenous deaths during the period of interest. The process used by the Australian Bureau of Statistics to assess completeness of coverage is also described in detail in the publication.
