CHANGE TO PRODUCT TITLE

The existing Australian National Accounts: Financial Accounts (cat. no. 5232.0) product provides quarterly estimates of the financial flows between institutional sectors of the domestic economy and with the rest of the world. In addition, the publication provides estimates of the financial assets and liabilities owned by each sector and various sub-sectors at the end of each quarter. Other key estimates within the publication include the demand for credit by non-financial domestic institutional sectors during the quarter and their corresponding levels of credit outstanding.

The scope of the product is expanding, and from the September quarter 2014 it will include detailed sectoral capital accounts and estimates of net lending/borrowing. The new publication will retain the 5232.0 catalogue number, however the title of the product will change to Australian National Accounts: Finance and Wealth (cat. no. 5232.0) to reflect the inclusion of detailed capital and wealth estimates.

RETIREMENT OF PDF PUBLICATION

As at September quarter 2014 and for all forthcoming issues the Australian National Accounts: Finance and Wealth (cat. no. 5232.0) product will no longer be produced in PDF format. The estimates will be released online as time series spreadsheets available for download as excel files accompanied by analysis and commentary.
