Use of Renewable Energy in Australian Homes

Solar energy was used by 7% of Australian households for heating water in 2008, nearly double the use in 2005 when 4% had solar hot water.

Between 1994 and 2008, the number of homes with four or more bedrooms rose from 21 to 29%.
Use of Appliances and White Goods in Australian Homes

In 2005, heaters and coolers accounted for more that two-fifths (41%) of household energy use.
