      Description
        Provides information about the usually resident civilian population, aged 15 and over, who are either employed or actively looking for work. This information plays an important role in the analysis and monitoring of social and economic aspects of Australia's working age population.
      Data detail
        Labour force data can be classified by:
      • age
      • sex
      • marital status
      • education attendance
      • relationship in household
      • family type (e.g. one-parent families)
      • birthplace and year of arrival in Australia
      • occupation

        The data includes:
      • whether employed full time or part time
      • whether looking for either full time or part time work
      • persons in the labour force
      • persons not in the labour force
      • unemployment rate
      • participation rate
      Geographic coverage
        State, Labour Force regions
      Frequency
        Monthly
      Historical data
