GROUP 31 – HORSE AND DOG RACING

Group 31 Horse and dog racing consists of units mainly engaged in operating facilities specially used and designed for horse or dog racing, including thoroughbred horse racing, harness horse racing and greyhound racing. This group also includes the operation of racing stables and kennels, administration of racing and the provision of riding or harness driving services. It consists of the following class:

311 Horse and dog racing.


311 HORSE AND DOG RACING

Definition

This class consists of units mainly engaged in operating facilities specially used and designed for thoroughbred horse racing, harness horse racing or greyhound racing. This class also includes the operation of racing stables and kennels, administration of racing and the provision of riding or harness driving services.


Exclusions / References

Units mainly engaged in:

(a) conducting equestrian competitions other than thoroughbred or harness racing are included in Class 322 Other sports and physical recreation venues, grounds and facilities or Class 332 Sports and physical recreation clubs, teams and sports professionals;

(b) providing other services to racing are included in Class 334 Sports and physical recreation support services; and

(c) bookmaking and totalisator operating are included in Class 419 Other gambling services.

Greyhound training

Horse or dog race course or track operation

Horse or dog training for racing

Race horse training

Race riding or driving

Racing club operation (thoroughbred, harness or greyhound)

Racing stables or kennels operation
