Senior Staff Biography - Jenine Borowik, First Assistant Statistician, Program Delivery

Jenine Borowik is the First Assistant Statistician of the ABS 2017 Program Delivery Division at the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS).

ABS 2017 brings together the organisation's key strategic initiatives of Business and Information Management Transformation with the public face of the ABS, and the planning and implementation of the 2016 Census of Population and Housing. The Program Delivery Division is the public face of the ABS and is responsible for delivering key process improvements under the ABS 2017 program. Key processes include the acquisition of data into the ABS, new dissemination methods and the design and delivery of the ABS's first digital census in 2016.

Jenine joined the ABS in 1979 and has worked in a number of areas of the organisation. Prior to her current role, Jenine led the ABS Technology Services Division (TSD) and was the organisation's Chief Information Officer (CIO) for several years. She is a member of the ABS Senior Management Group (SMG) and is passionate about encouraging effective collaboration with statistical organisations within Australia and internationally. Under the Commonwealth Government’s Gateway Review Process, Jenine performs Gateway Reviews of major projects, both in Australia and overseas. She is also an Executive Fellow of the Australia and New Zealand School of Government (ANZSOG).
