| Gillian Nicoll has been the Regional Director of the Western Australian Office of the Australian Bureau of Statistics since March 2011. Gillian is responsible for managing the ABS relationship with the Western Australian State Government, and has program responsibility for ICT and Innovation Statistics. She also has the responsibility for the WA Census team.
Gillian joined the ABS in 1988 and has considerable experience in statistical, corporate and infrastructure areas of the ABS. For example, she has experience in the compilation of several economic and social statistics collections, the provision of methodological, classification and statistical services advice. Gillian was the Branch Head of the Office of the Statistician for four years where she was responsible for corporate planning, corporate governance, policy and legislation, international relations and corporate communication areas of the ABS prior to moving to her current role.
Gillian has an Honours Degree in Economics, and a Graduate Certificate in Management.
